Lighting is the whole difference.
One room, one night, one chandelier. The only thing that changed between these two photographs is the color Rob put on the walls, and it is the difference between two completely different evenings.
It shows up in every photograph taken after sunset, which is most of them. Rob picks the color with you against your flowers and your linens, then places it, runs it and takes it away.
Lighting and effects
Ten o’clock, and it stops being a room.
Warm color up the walls. Your names in light on the floor. Sparks behind the first kiss and a mirror ball turning over a floor nobody wants to leave. This is the difference between photographs of a hall with people in it and the photographs you have been imagining since the day you got engaged.
Rob designs it against your room and your colors, then brings it, places it, runs it from the booth and takes it away, all on the same load-in. You walk in and it is already right. Nothing arrives in a box on the morning of your wedding for somebody else to work out.
The run of show
A night like that does not happen by accident.
Your guests will never see a timeline. They will feel one. The hush before the vows. The noise when the doors open. A toast everybody hears, right to the back of the room. The moment the floor goes and stays gone.
Every one of those moments has work behind it that you will never see. Here it is, from the first message to the last song.
You send a date, and a person answers
It lands with Rob, not an assistant. He reads it himself and comes back with whether your date is open and what it costs.
You plan it out loud
A call, not a questionnaire. The order of the evening, the song your grandmother has to hear, the three that must never play under any circumstances, and who is announcing what. This is where the night actually gets designed.
Everybody works from one timeline
Rob writes the run of show down and sends it to your photographer and your coordinator, so nobody is guessing when the cake gets cut and nobody misses it standing out in the parking lot.
The room is finished before you see it
He loads in early, sound checks while the chairs are still empty, places the lighting before the first photograph is taken, and your venue already has the insurance certificate on file.
One voice, all night
DJ and MC are the same voice, so every introduction, every toast and every announcement comes from somebody who already knows what happens next. And because he is not working alone, he never has to put the microphone down to go and solve something.
And then he reads the room
The set is not a list running down. It is a read: who is up, who is reaching for a coat, and what has to play in the next ninety seconds. It is the whole job, and it is the one part of it nobody can hand you in a box.
The work
Every one of these was somebody’s perfect day.
Vows on a pier in the afternoon. A room nobody wanted to leave at midnight. Every person in these photographs went home with a night they are still describing.
The investment

A full wedding day with Rob starts at $2,500: a ceremony every person in the back row can hear, a room that stops being a room at ten o’clock, and a last song nobody wants to end.
What you add to it is not a menu, and it is not a pitch. Rob looks at your room, listens to what you have been picturing, and tells you which of it is worth doing and which of it is not. Nobody here is trying to sell you a bigger number. That is the Midas difference.
Why Rob
A talent earned in nightclubs, where nobody claps to be polite.
Rob Kermidas spent eight years behind the decks in Binghamton, New York: nightclubs, corporate events and college parties, rooms that tell you inside four bars whether you have them or you have lost them. He moved to Knoxville in 2016, worked in event marketing alongside MTV and GMR, and founded Midas Entertainment here in 2022.
That is the ear standing at your reception. Not a playlist running down: a read. Who is up, who is reaching for a coat, and what has to play in the next ninety seconds. It is the part of this job that cannot be bought in a box, and it is the reason people write the reviews they write.
It is his name on the business and his number on the page. When you call, he answers, and he is the one who designs your night. What he is not is the only person working on it.

A wedding has too many moving parts for one pair of hands, and the difference shows at exactly the moments you would not want it to. These are the people who make it, and the contract you sign names which of them is coming to your event.

Weddings, private parties and corporate events, off the same written run of show. Rob’s word for him is “incredible”, and Rob still plans the night with you either way.

Questions
The ones worth asking any DJ.
Will Rob be the DJ at my event, or does he send someone else?
You choose, and the contract names who is coming. There are two DJs: Rob, the owner, who works every booking with his brother Dan, and Coty Tate, Rob’s second in command, who works solo. They are priced differently and both are on the pricing page. Rob is the person you plan with either way. Nobody is assigned to your date that you have not met on paper first.
Does Midas Entertainment carry liability insurance?
Yes. Midas Entertainment is fully insured, and a certificate of insurance is available on request for your venue. Most venues in this area ask for one, and many will not let a vendor load in without it.
Which areas do you cover?
Knoxville and East Tennessee, and further than most. Rob is based in Lenoir City, twenty minutes west of Knoxville, and travel within two hours of there is included in every package: that covers Knoxville, Maryville, Farragut, the Sevier County wedding towns, Chattanooga and the Tri-Cities. Further than two hours, ask, and it is quoted on the drive.
How far in advance should we book?
Earlier than you think. In Rob’s words, from his own guide: “Many DJs like myself tend to book 9 to 18 months out, and in some cases two years out, so do not delay in finding your DJ.” Peak-season Saturdays go first. Send the date and find out.
